Biography: Lim Weixiang

Lim Weixiang majored in economics at the National University of Singapore and presently teaches General Paper in a junior college, in addition to being a photographer. He has worked as a freelance photojournalist for Singapore’s main English daily newspaper, the Straits Times, and his photo essays can be seen regularly on popular online news and entertainment portal Insing.com. In 2011, he was named as one of the 10 emerging photographers by PLATFORM. His work has been shown at the National Museum of Singapore and most recently at the Obscura Festival of Photography in Penang. Living in a society constantly in flux, he uses photography to explore the themes of memory and loss, as well as the fears and insecurities of his generation of Singaporeans.
